Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability
- Support individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate medication administration records
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling to prevent injury for both clients and caregivers
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning and laundry in accordance with health standards
- Communicate effectively with clients about their needs, preferences, and concerns to foster trust and comfort
- Follow resident’s rights policies diligently to uphold dignity, privacy, and autonomy at all times
- Operate standard passenger cars safely for client transportation when required for appointments or outings
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings with a focus on geriatrics or long-term care
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care best practices
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Excellent client communication skills with an empathetic approach to caregiving
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly valued
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks while maintaining safe patient handling practices
- Knowledge of resident’s rights and ethical caregiving standards in senior or home care environments
- Skilled in group home activities, behavioral management techniques, and home & community care services
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating a standard passenger car for client transportation when needed
