What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Person position at Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care Company?
- Perform all required ground duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader
- Assist in the performance of specialized pruning and take-downs, installing cabling and bracing
- Safely operate equipment
- Participate in all job site safety briefings
- Perform proper felling, limbing and bucking techniques with a chainsaw
- Perform pruning from the ground with hand tools and pole saws, application of approved rigging techniques and knowledge of standard knots
- Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
- Perform ground duties such as job site set up and clean up as required
- Previous industry experience is desired, but willing to train right candidate
- Knowledge of pruning techniques including large shade trees and ornamentals
- Ability to operate chainsaw, chipper, stump grinder and log mover
- Knowledge of industry standard rigging techniques and knots
- Knowledge of native and introduced tree and shrub species and characteristics of each species is desired
- Ability to lift 50lbs and occasionally 80-100lbs with assistance
- Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred
- Bi-lingual is a plus
Hourly range $21 - $24.
