POSITION: Paraprofessional
LOCATION: Donald L. Pavlik Middle School
REPORTS TO: Jennifer Huntoon, Building Principal
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree/Certification:
High School Diploma and meets Highly Qualified guidelines for Title I buildings – at least one of the following: Associates Degree or Certificate of Competency for ETS test.
Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
At Alma Public Schools, paraprofessionals are vital to the day-to-day operation of our schools. They work alongside certified staff to support student growth, contribute to a positive learning environment, and help the district achieve its goals.
MAJOR DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
· Assisting certified teachers with classroom instruction and activities.
· Reinforcing lessons through small-group or one-on-one support.
· Supporting students with disabilities, 504 plans, or behavior intervention plans.
· Assisting with adaptive, physical, or medical needs in collaboration with other staff.
· Helping manage classroom routines and supporting a positive learning environment.
· Providing behavioral support, documentation, and crisis assistance as needed.
· Building strong relationships with students to better understand and meet their needs.
· Supporting inclusive practices that ensure all students have access to learning.
· Adapting to changing assignments and schedules based on student, classroom, or school needs.
· Applying individual skills, training, and past experiences to best support students and staff.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
COMPENSATION:
Starting Parapro wage - $14.00/hr.
