TITLE: Building MTSS Coordinator
Donald L. Pavlik Middle School
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelors of Arts Degree in Education
● Advanced training or demonstrated skill and experience in the area of academic, behavioral or family intervention support and implementation science
● Demonstrate experience in the improvement of student achievement
● Have working knowledge of best practice strategies and be able to make research-based decisions
JOB SCOPE:
● Implement the district MTSS framework (data, systems, and processes) at the building level.
● Building MTSS Coordinator shall establish positive working relationships with students, staff and families to support academic and behavioral success at school.
● Provide coaching supports to staff following coaching system and confidentiality, in support of building administration and district MTSS framework.
● Be able to set, manage and coordinate multiple priorities, and prepare concise and accurate written communications and reports.
● Adhere to MTSS Coordinator Implementation Guide for job functions.
● Luce Road will require coordination of preschool programs under the direction of the building principal.
MAJOR DUTIES:
● Maintain effective data system to allow data-based decision making through team-based leadership
● Support, coach, and adhere to district processes for implementation practices.
● Provide coaching and professional learning to staff regarding MTSS-related topics.
● Ensure Tier 1 behavioral expectations are followed and supported in the building.
● Maintain intervention system (with following selection and implementation processes) and intervention platforms.
● Effectively utilize our student discipline and behavioral systems to support at-risk student success.
● Develop and provide support to students and families using research-based intervention strategies.
● Effectively communicate with families regarding student supports and assist in the development and implementation of plan supports.
● Meet with families and teachers to develop academic and nonacademic improvement plans for struggling students.
● Monitor student attendance and discipline data to identify at-risk students and create intervention strategies to prevent behaviors that negatively impact school success.
● Collaborate with the building Principal on progress monitoring the overall success of school-wide behavior expectations and core instruction.
● Utilize various assessments (universal screeners, diagnostic assessments, progress monitoring, fidelity measures, early warning indicators, etc.) to make informed decisions. Use the data collected to develop supports for identified students.
● Coordinate data collection and create reports for BIT/DIT as requested.
● Facilitate data review and intervention support processes and subsequent meetings.
● Collaborate with other MTSS Coordinators and MTSS Director on regular basis to promote district-wide implementation of the MTSS framework.
● Actively participate in district MTSS meetings.
● Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION: Alma Public Schools Salary Schedule A
