AWPM is based in Downtown Memphis, TN, with offices in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL. This position is full-time onsite in Memphis, TN .
Position Summary
The Project Engineer I is a progressive, entry-level engineering position responsible for providing engineering and engineering-related services that support the successful delivery of projects for Allworld Project Management (AWPM) clients. This role is designed to develop foundational engineering, project management, and field coordination skills while working under the guidance and oversight of registered professional engineers and experienced project staff.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is preferred prior to employment and may be completed within the first year of employment.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform design-related duties as assigned to support project objectives
- Assist with maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Track job progress on design and/or construction projects to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule
- Operate cooperatively with AWPM staff, external clients, consultants, and contractors
- Review contracts, submittals, and drawings for compliance with project specifications
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project execution
- Track subcontractor manpower and hours
- Claim work performed and assist with invoice review and approvals
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve issues related to assigned projects and construction sites
- Update project schedules and documentation as required
- Participate in regular progress meetings with internal staff, clients, and contractors
- Develop proficiency in standard engineering software, including AutoCAD and ArcGIS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is preferred (may be completed within the first year of employment)
- Less than two (2) years of related engineering experience is expected
- Ability to support both office-based and field-based engineering efforts
- Basic understanding of project management principles
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to follow direction, pay close attention to detail, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Developing sound engineering judgment with guidance from a registered professional engineer
- Building effective working relationships and functioning cooperatively with AWPM staff
- Developing project management skills, including scheduling, time management, and administrative follow-through
- Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
- Interpreting technical instructions in mathematical, written, and diagrammatic form
- Learning new concepts quickly and retaining technical information
- Managing and prioritizing multiple tasks across several projects
- Organizing and presenting technical data clearly and effectively
- Learning and adhering to site safety standards, including those applicable to active construction environments
- Primarily office-based with frequent visits to construction sites and off-site meetings
- Physical demands are generally minimal; however, fieldwork may require:
- Traversing uneven or challenging terrain
- Working in and around active construction sites
- Performing occasional physically demanding tasks associated with site conditions
Salary : $62,000 - $68,000
