Position Summary
Allure of Knox County is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to support our Activities Department in delivering engaging programs that enhance the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of our residents. This role plays a key part in creating a positive, active, and fulfilling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and leading group and individual activities
- Support creative programs such as arts, crafts, music, games, and educational activities
- Help coordinate spiritual programs and special events
- Encourage resident participation and engagement
- Assist with exercise and wellness activities
- Help implement the monthly activity calendar
- Provide 1:1 activities for residents unable to attend group programs
- Transport residents to and from activities as needed
- Document participation and maintain accurate activity records
- Support community involvement and special events
- Assist in maintaining activity supplies and organization
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in activities, recreation, or healthcare preferred but not required
- Compassionate, patient, and energetic personality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for working with the elderly population
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday
- Ability to assist residents with mobility and participation in activities
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work with residents who may be ill, disabled, or emotionally distressed
- May assist with resident evacuation during emergencies
- Work environment is typically moderate in noise level
