We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Aide to join our team at Allure of Galesburg. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for our residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs and quality assurance programs in the facility for the Activities Department
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement to evaluate facility activities and resident progress
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to ensure seamless daily activities
• Create and maintain a warm, personal, and positive atmosphere throughout the facility
• Assist in preparing activity rooms and areas for scheduled programs
• Recommend equipment and supply needs to supervisors and assist in cleaning up activity areas after completion
• Follow care plans to provide daily activities for residents and maintain confidentiality of resident care information
• Oversee residents during scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being
• Assist with in-room residents, including visiting, writing letters, running errands, and performing assistive tasks
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on their maturity level
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress
• Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  
  
  

Salary: $18.5 HOURLY
