AllTruckJobs is working with Averitt Express to find a qualified Dedicated Company Driver in Tuscaloosa, Alabama!
Looking for a dependable truck driving opportunity that offers stability, predictable hours, and daily home time? Join our team as a Dedicated Yard Switcher and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of freight at our customer's onsite location. This position is perfect for drivers who want consistent scheduling, reliable paychecks, and a supportive work environment.
Competitive Pay:
- Average $1,736 per week / $90,272 per year
- Starting pay: $27 per hour
- Top pay: $28 reached within 60 days
- Average 52-62 hours per week
Home Time and Shift:
- Home daily
- Night Shift: Sunday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Some Saturday work as needed
- Ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the customer's location
- Maintain an accurate yard check tracking all trailer movements and status updates (loaded and empty)

Requirements
- Must live within a 75-mile radius
- 6 months' verifiable tractor/trailer experience and/or switching experience within the past 3 years
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have Class A CDL
- No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
- No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
Essential Functions:
- Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement: 46 lbs
- Count freight
- Complete fuel tickets
- Obtain sales leads
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Drive
- Regular predictable attendance
- Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
- Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
