Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction machinery including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, etc.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and diesel engines using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, alignment checks, and HVAC system servicing.
- Utilize OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals and technical documentation to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and maintenance logs while adhering to safety standards and procedures.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation during repairs or testing to ensure proper functionality after service.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician in dealership or construction environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, including excavators, dump trucks, loaders, and trailers.
- Skilled in automotive repair techniques and equipment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair preferred; knowledge of air brake systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
