Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify mechanical or electrical failures and implement effective repairs promptly.
- Maintain and repair plumbing connections associated with HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform repairs or modifications as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Perform routine HVAC system maintenance to optimize efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.
- Assist in HVAC system design projects by providing technical input based on field experience.
- Support property maintenance tasks related to mechanical systems and appliances to ensure building operations run smoothly.
Skills
- Extensive construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems installation and repair.
- Proven service technician experience working with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Knowledge of HVAC system repair techniques including refrigeration, boiler operation, air conditioning units, and building automation controls.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics using specialized tools such as ohmmeters; capable of diagnosing electrical faults efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC equipment; experienced in equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
- Familiarity with HVAC system installation procedures in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism in client interactions.
- Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely; welding skills are advantageous for certain repair tasks.
- Experience with electrical systems troubleshooting; knowledge of building automation systems is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license for field service travel between sites.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
