Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager / Lead Operator to join our team in the Winter Park, Colorado area. In this full-time, permanent role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure strict regulatory compliance, manage project finances and technical support, and lead a safety-focused team.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in industrial fluid flow and process control, proven supervisory leadership, and the ability to seamlessly manage remote operations and SCADA systems.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Technical Management

• Oversee daily operations of industrial water/wastewater treatment equipment, process controls, and instrumentation.
• Monitor, operate, and manage SCADA systems, client software, and daily data entry.
• Maintain a deep understanding of fluid flow dynamics, process equipment, and system troubleshooting.
• Ensure operations strictly comply with local, state, and federal industrial regulations and standards.

Leadership & Compliance

• Provide direct leadership and supervision to operational staff, fostering a strong culture of safety and quality.
• Read, interpret, and enforce client-specific safety standards, quality requirements, and operational guidelines.
• Utilize strong virtual communication skills to maintain flawless operations and regulatory compliance when working remote from client sites.

Project Management & Administration

• Manage projects with direct responsibility for technical support, scheduling, and financial accountability.
• Perform routine administrative tasks using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and PDF applications.
• Travel up to 10% of the time as needed for training, client visits, or multi-site support.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: * Active Grade B Industrial Wastewater Treatment License for the State of Colorado (Grade A is also accepted).
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no major infractions).
• Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in an industrial water/wastewater treatment facility, municipal water/wastewater facility, public works operation, or a closely related field.
• Experience must include project management with direct responsibility for technical support and financial accountability.
• Supervisory Experience: * At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with SCADA systems, data entry, and client management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and standard PDF software.
• Solid grasp of industrial operations, fluid dynamics, process equipment, and control instrumentation.
• Communication & Mobility:
• Excellent virtual and written communication skills to maintain remote oversight and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
