Position Title – Composite Technician

(Hourly Pay Rate (w2 Role) ) :

******1st shift – pay rate $25.50 (5 am – 12 pm)***********

******2nd shift – pay rate $26.50 (3 pm – 12 am)**********

Location - Saber Springs, CA 92128

Duration: 6 Months


Job Summary


Position Overview:

Under general supervision in a loud manufacturing environment, this role performs repetitive and standardized procedures related to the fabrication, curing, build‑up, and assembly of composite materials. The position involves working with epoxy agents, blueprints, templates, process sheets, and other authorized documentation.


Qualifications:

- High School diploma or equivalent plus two or more years of related experience.

- Ability to read and understand written/verbal instructions and detailed blueprints.

- Competent with hand tools such as rollers, scissors, cutters, heat guns, molds, and mandrels.

- Able to use measuring instruments including scales, protractors, and calipers.

- May require respirator certification.

- Ability to work in loud environments, lift up to 50 lbs, and work extended hours as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in preparing molds and forms.

- Measure, mark, and cut composite materials including tape, woven fabrics, honeycomb, and adhesives.

- Route, drill, trim, and sand components according to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.

- Vacuum bag parts for room‑temperature curing.

- Assist with composite material lay‑up processes.

- Fit and smooth layers to ensure work is free of wrinkles, air pockets, and voids.

- Assemble aircraft components using adhesives, rivets, and threaded fasteners.

- Perform surface preparation and paint composite/metal components.

- Apply epoxy, urethane, and water‑based coatings using HVLP spray equipment.

- Support development of shop aids for fabrication, trimming, and assembly.

- Verify expiration dates, mix resins and catalysts properly.

- Monitor and ensure quality per organizational standards.

- Maintain a clean, organized work area.

- Follow all safety and compliance requirements.

- Perform additional duties as needed.


The hiring team is seeking a skilled Composite Technician who can work efficiently in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment. They want someone who:


1. **Has hands‑on experience with composite materials** – laying up materials, trimming, curing processes, and working with adhesives.

2. **Can read and interpret blueprints** – this is critical for accuracy and quality.

3. **Is comfortable using a variety of tools and equipment** – including cutting tools, sanding equipment, heat guns, and measuring tools.

4. **Understands manufacturing processes** – particularly related to aircraft or aerospace components.

5. **Is safety‑conscious and detail‑oriented** – able to follow procedures, track material expiration dates, and maintain clean work areas.

6. **Can perform physically demanding work** – lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a loud environment.

7. **Is reliable and adaptable** – willing to work extended hours, and follow strict quality guidelines.
