Steel Project Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 120k/year - Detroit, MI
- Our client is a construction group providing clients with a comprehensive range of general contracting services across the state of Michigan and beyond.
- The Steel Project Manager oversees all activities related to the construction of an assigned project. The Steel Project Manager is responsible for setting project goals, defining strategies, ensuring project team members are aligned with project objectives, and overseeing the successful execution of assigned construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for overall safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction on assigned construction projects
- Establish and oversee project safety plans and site safety requirements
- Write and manage contracts with customers, subcontractors, and design professionals
- Manage monthly payment applications and project billing processes
- Manage project costs, budgets, job costing, and profitability
- Supervise project staff and coordinate field operations
- Maintain relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
- Monitor and control construction activities to ensure structural steel projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Manage project schedules, project controls, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other construction documentation
- Coordinate steel fabrication and steel erection activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead project investigations as needed and implement corrective actions
Qualifications:
- 3 years of project management experience or 5 years of overall experience within the construction industry serving either steel fabrication or steel erection sectors
- Experience managing projects with multiple delivery methods ranging from $500k - $400M
- Experience with structural steel fabrication and/or steel erection projects
- Experience with construction project management, scheduling, cost management, contract administration, and project controls
- Willingness to perform domestic travel up to 1 year
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Oracle Primavera, Tekla, and SDS2
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 115k - 120k/year range
