Construction Project Manager - High-End Residential Construction - Base Salary to 110k/year - Westfield, NJ
- Our client, a growing residential construction company serving Central New Jersey, is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee high-end residential construction projects including custom home builds, renovations, remodels, and additions.
- This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring high-quality project execution throughout all phases of construction. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on residential construction experience along with project management experience overseeing luxury or custom residential construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage high-end residential construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and day-to-day construction activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, and homeowners throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead preconstruction planning meetings to address constructability, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control concerns
- Review project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and estimates
- Solicit bids and assist with estimating and budgeting for custom residential construction projects
- Order and manage project materials, equipment, and deliveries
- Monitor project schedules and identify delays or conflicts while implementing corrective actions
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure workmanship, safety, and compliance with project specifications
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding project progress, timelines, and expectations
- Coordinate inspections, permits, and municipal requirements as needed
- Document and communicate jobsite incidents, delays, design concerns, and project updates to management
- Maintain project documentation including schedules, change orders, budgets, and daily project activity
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing training opportunities
Qualifications:
- 3 years of project management experience within residential construction
- Experience managing high-end residential projects including custom homes, renovations, remodels, or additions
- Hands-on field construction experience within residential construction environments
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and construction schedules
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building practices
- Understanding of construction safety standards and jobsite best practices
- Experience managing multiple phases of construction projects simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between office locations and active job sites throughout Central New Jersey
- Ability to navigate active construction jobsites in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as needed
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 90k – 110k/year range
