About Us
We are a growing rendering company specializing in the collection and processing of used cooking oil and animal by-products. Our operation depends on reliable, well-maintained equipment, and we’re looking for a skilled in-house Welder/Fabricator to help keep our plant running safely and efficiently.
Position Summary
This is a hands on welding and fabrication role focused primarily on in house repair, maintenance, and custom fabrication projects within our facility. You’ll work on tanks, piping systems, structural components, cookers, and processing equipment to support daily plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and wire-feed welding on steel and stainless-steel components
- Fabricate, repair, and modify cooking tanks, piping systems, pumps, platforms, and structural equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements for fabrication projects
- Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, hoists, pneumatic tools, and shop equipment
- Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment repairs throughout the facility
- Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues as needed
- Ensure all work meets company safety and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication
- Experience with Stick and Wire Feed welding preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial or agricultural equipment experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Comfortable working independently and managing projects from start to finish
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Previous ASME code welding certification is a plus, but not required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with hydraulic systems, pumps, and industrial processing equipment
- Familiarity with rendering or food-processing equipment is beneficial
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Comfortable crawling, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and welding in confined or awkward positions
- Ability to work at heights when necessary
