Join a custom fabrication shop where you won't spend every day welding the same production parts. Weldit Metalworks Inc. is looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder who can read blueprints, fit and fabricate custom assemblies, solve fabrication challenges, and consistently produce high-quality work with limited supervision.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week overtime opportunities as production demands require
Pay: $27–$32/hour, based on experience
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of professional MIG welding and metal fabrication experience
- Strong blueprint reading, layout, fit-up, and assembly skills
- Ability to fabricate custom, non-repetitive projects
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Leadership, mentoring, or lead welder experience is highly preferred

Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on custom metal fabrication projects.
- Layout, fit, fabricate, and weld components in multiple positions and configurations.
- Read and accurately fabricate from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and develop practical, efficient solutions.
- Manage assigned work to meet quality standards and production schedules.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced welders when needed.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, safety, and shop efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Minimum 5 years of professional MIG welding and metal fabrication experience; pulsed MIG experience preferred.
- Strong blueprint reading, layout, fit-up, and assembly skills.
- Proficiency welding in multiple positions and configurations.
- Experience with common fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, plasma cutting, and oxy-acetylene cutting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain quality with limited supervision.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.
*Applicants will complete a hands-on fabrication/welding test as part of the interview process.
Highly Preferred
- Welding degree, certification, or formal welding training.
- Lead welder, foreman, or other fabrication leadership experience.
- Experience training or mentoring other welders.
- Experience coordinating fabrication work and helping maintain production schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and improve shop efficiency.
- Experience taking custom fabrication projects from print review through completion.
