About the Role
A successful BSA in the health insurance domain combines technical expertise in data and web technologies, strong analytical and documentation skills, and the ability to communicate and collaborate across business and IT teams. Familiarity with industry tools and agile practices further enhances effectiveness in this role.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to analyze, document, and translate business needs into system requirements.
• Define & document data analysis/transformation requirements including sample queries and metadata mapping using Big Query dataset and tables for business reporting, analytics, and system validation.
• Develop interactive front-end mock-ups and dashboards layouts to visualize analytical findings and communicate business insights effectively.
• Work closely with UI/front-end developers to ensure usability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate on API design and integration. Support web applications using frameworks
• Conduct business process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments for system improvements within the insurance space.
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by defining test cases, validating system behavior, and ensuring alignment with business expectations.
• Serve as a liaison between business users and IT teams, ensuring technical feasibility and functional clarity for ongoing enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Domain Experience: 3–5 years as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally within the health insurance or healthcare sector.
• Data Analytics & Querying: Advanced proficiency in BigQuery (mandatory) and SQL for data extraction, analytics, and reporting.
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, and front-end frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Angular) to support requirements gathering and UI validation.
• Reporting & Visualization: Experience defining and documenting reporting and dashboarding requirements; ability to create interactive front-end presentations for business communication and stakeholder review.
• Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and business problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of data-driven decision-making.
• Documentation Expertise: Skilled in writing Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), Use Cases, and User Stories.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
• Agility & Independence: Strong time management and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Additional Skills (Preferred/Industry Best Practice)
o Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio).
o Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
o Exposure to API integrations and data exchange between front-end and backend systems.
o Stakeholder management, process mapping, and gap analysis within insurance or healthcare domains.
