Information Technology (IT) Technician
Job Location : Travels to program locations throughout Somerset & Hunterdon Counties, NJ, and to the administration building in Mercer County, NJ. (Territory subject to change based on personnel .)
Hours : Flexible Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (with on-call 24/7)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Allies Inc. Information Technology Technician is responsible for assisting with planning, designing, coordinating, and administering network systems and subsystems including all workstations; resolving network operational issues; responding to helpdesk and support inquiries; maintaining hardware, software, as well as the network; and providing information, direction and/or recommendations regarding computer equipment and software. The IT Technician travels to locations throughout assigned region to provide both in-person and remote support.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- A flexible 40-hour schedule as determined by supervisor
- Inspecting in person each assigned program monthly for any potential hardware or software issues that have not been reported
- Responding to support tickets submitted within 3 hours, acknowledging the receipt of the ticket
- Timely completion of support tickets with daily check in for open and pending tickets
- Reviewing assigned and unassigned tickets daily, providing additional support in other regions as needed, including when another technician is unavailable or out on leave.
- Supporting Helpdesk, as well as serving as primary support for all technical issues involving corporate network and all Windows-based systems.
- Maintaining hardware and software inventory and licenses
- Maintaining system performance; network availability monitoring; hardware, software, and phone issue troubleshooting
- Consulting with Director of Information Technology to develop system solutions consistent with Allies Inc. objectives
- Providing phone, remote access, and in person support to end-users
- Responding to the needs and inquiries from network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs
- Communication of all projects currently being worked on regularly and during weekly department meetings
- Researching and evaluating new technology opportunities for review with the IT Director
- Installing and testing new software and upgrades
- Providing backup support to peers by becoming familiar with their daily functions and responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer/information technology from an accredited college or university, or
- Associate's degree in computer science or computer/information technology along with one (1) year of experience, or
- High School Diploma with three (3) years of experience working in a technical support role
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid unrestricted Driver's license with good driving record
- Proof of valid auto insurance coverage
- Industry standard certifications such as CompTIA A and Network preferred but not required
Skills/Abilities:
The Information Technology Technician must be self-motivated and well-organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and locations simultaneously. Experience with Microsoft365, Windows Server platform and basic network understanding is required. The information Technology Technician must be methodical and meticulous in their attention to detail and processes. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills are necessary as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, climbing, and prolonged periods of sitting.
- Allies Inc. is a 24/7 multi-facility operation and as such, the Information Technology Technician must be available for any emergencies that may affect the functionality of the agency's mission.
