Security Officer - Walking Patrol Rounds

As a Security Officer - Walking Patrol Rounds in Largo, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points, assist with badge and/or access control needs as directed, respond to calls for service, and deliver professional customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing clear directions and coordinating with campus personnel and/or local responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity in common areas, reporting suspicious or unusual behavior according to post orders and documenting observations in daily activity reports.
• Complete incident reports, log entries, and other required documentation, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 2 or more years of Security Experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
