Security Officer - Retail Patrol Full-Time

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Full-Time in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately during emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence throughout.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate parties.
• Assist with controlling access to designated areas as required by site policies.
• Support a welcoming environment for customers and staff while maintaining a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency personnel as needed during incidents or critical events.
• Document all incidents and activities clearly and accurately in daily reports or logs as required by the site.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
