As a Detention Facility Security Officer - Armed Access in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a government corrections location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a correctional government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and facility concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess 1 years' law enforcement experience OR 2 years' security supervisor/manager experience OR 3 years' security experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
