We are building a scalable, data-driven platform focused on financial discipline, standardized reporting, and operational excellence. The Controller will play a key role in strengthening our financial foundation, supporting integrations, and preparing the platform for significant expansion.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the core accounting functions of ARP while supporting financial reporting, multi-entity consolidation, and M&A integration. This role requires a hands-on financial leader who thrives in a growing, acquisitive environment and can build structure, strengthen controls, and guide newly acquired companies through ARP’s financial standards.
This role works closely with the CFO, Group Controller, and local operating teams across all ARP brands.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee general ledger maintenance and accounting operations across multiple subsidiaries.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and consolidated management reports.
- Maintain strong AP/AR processes; ensure AR aging stays at 93% under 60 days.
- Complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Manage commission processing for commissionable agents.
Financial Planning, Analysis & Performance
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and platform-wide financial planning.
- Analyze KPIs, margin drivers, job costing, backlog, cash flow, and operational performance.
- Translate financial performance into clear, actionable insights for non-financial leaders.
- Support creation of dashboards, reporting packages, and analytical tools.
M&A Support & Integration Leadership
- Partner with the CFO and M&A team on due diligence, financial review, and integration.
- Implement standardized accounting policies, internal controls, and financial workflows within newly acquired companies.
- Support migration to unified systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, CRM/ERP platforms).
- Assist in establishing scalable processes for revenue recognition, job costing, and consolidated reporting.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to local accounting teams post-acquisition.
Systems, Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement
- Help build ARP’s scalable financial technology stack, including ERP enhancements and AP automation.
- Improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline processes, and increase automation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, HR, Sales, and Finance across all brands.
- Provide financial support during operational reviews, pricing discussions, and cost initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to align financial processes with operational execution.
Qualifications Education & Experience
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience; 2 years in a supervisory/management role required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Construction, roofing, or skilled trades industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity environments and acquisition integration is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and job costing.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel.
