Our retail client is seeking a visionary VP, Product Management – Commercial Systems to lead product strategy, execution, and value realization across key business domains including Stores, Digital/eCommerce, Omnichannel, and Merchandising Planning & Allocation (MP&A).
This executive leadership role will be responsible for defining product vision, driving business outcomes, and ensuring technology investments deliver measurable impact on revenue growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Establish outcome-based goals tied to revenue growth, customer engagement, conversion, and store productivity.
- Drive a product-led culture focused on delivering measurable business value.
- Balance innovation with scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Domain Ownership
- Lead product strategy for:
- Store Systems & POS
- Digital Commerce & Omnichannel Experiences
- Mobile Applications
- Fulfillment & Customer Engagement Platforms
- Merchandising Planning, Allocation, Pricing, and Assortment Solutions
Executive Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the strategic partner to senior business and technology leaders.
- Communicate roadmap priorities, business cases, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, and Finance.
Portfolio & Financial Management
- Own product investment planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Prioritize initiatives based on ROI, business impact, and capacity.
- Track KPIs related to adoption, customer value, and operational efficiency.
People Leadership
- Build and develop high-performing Product Directors and Product Managers.
- Establish performance standards, career development plans, and succession strategies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of Product Management experience.
- 5 years of senior leadership experience leading product organizations.
- Strong experience within Retail, Omni-channel Commerce, Store Systems, and Merchandising Planning & Allocation.
- Proven success leading enterprise-scale product portfolios and digital transformation initiatives.
Preferred:
- Experience within large retail or consumer-focused organizations.
- Strong understanding of POS, eCommerce platforms, merchandising systems, customer experience, and product operating models.
- Experience managing budgets, governance, and strategic investment planning.
