System Administrator

Our client in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a System Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. This position will focus on Linux administration, VMware support, infrastructure operations, and coordinating enterprise storage migration efforts across multiple application teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure in a highly available enterprise environment.
• Coordinate and support NFS storage migrations with application teams.
• Monitor system performance, server health, backups, and platform stability.
• Plan and execute Linux security patching activities.
• Support change management, release deployments, and production operations.
• Maintain server inventory and configuration management records.
• Automate operational tasks and improve infrastructure processes.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to ensure reliable service delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of Linux Systems Administration experience.
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware.
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments (Fortune 200-500 preferred).
• Financial services industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud.
• Experience with infrastructure support, disaster recovery, and virtualization technologies.
