What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at Allied Resources Technical Consultants?
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll lead the preconstruction process—analyzing project requirements, developing accurate cost estimates, and supporting project teams from bid through execution.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze client RFPs to determine project requirements and scope
- Develop comprehensive bid packages, including subcontractor invitations to bid (ITBs)
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and project manuals to define scope and identify risks
- Create detailed scopes of work tailored to each project
- Solicit, evaluate, and organize subcontractor proposals
- Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Develop preliminary project schedules in coordination with the project team
- Lead subcontractor buyout processes and assist in contract negotiations
- Participate in site visits and pre-bid walkthroughs, documenting key observations
- Partner with project management teams to address scope changes, pricing adjustments, and change orders
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects, including ground-up builds, tenant improvements, and interior renovations (projects up to $100M)
- Strong expertise in quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Experience working with various contract types such as Lump Sum, Competitive Bid, Cost Plus, and GMP/Negotiated projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), as well as estimating software like PlanSwift
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
