What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Analyst position at Allied Resources Technical Consultants?
Location: West Chester, PA (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze trends in experience data and develop assumption recommendations with supporting rationale
- Support assumptions related to variable annuity riders including GMDB, GMIB (Traditional and Hybrid), GMWBL, GMWB, and GMAB
- Work with assumptions such as deferred mortality, payout mortality, lapse, partial withdrawals, GMIB annuitizations, and GMWB utilization
- Review experience study data for accuracy and completeness; implement additional controls as needed
- Drive consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across experience studies
- Ensure experience study processes, particularly spreadsheet-based workflows, are transparent, repeatable, and well-controlled
- Prepare and present decks and detailed memorandums for assumption proposal approval by senior management
- Contribute to timely and accurate reporting of mortality and policyholder behavior experience
- Perform quarterly data reconciliations between experience studies and other data sources
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation
- Partner with modeling teams to implement approved assumptions into actuarial models
- Support structural, design, and process improvements by collaborating with IT and external vendors on transformation initiatives
- Assist with internal and external audits, including walkthroughs and responses to auditor inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as IT, Valuation, Finance, and external modeling partners
- Support future transactions through ad-hoc analyses related to experience studies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related discipline
- ASA, Career ASA, or newly credentialed FSA
- 5–6 years of experience in actuarial, insurance, or financial services roles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with SQL Server, Power BI, R, or Python; PowerPoint experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply actuarial concepts to solve complex or ad-hoc business questions
- Solid understanding of insurance products, regulations, and insurance company structures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth and willingness to rotate across actuarial functions
- Experience improving processes and implementing appropriate controls
- Prior exposure to variable annuity products preferred
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment
