What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Field Service Technician position at Allied Reliability?
Position is a roving field position that involves travel to various sites that can last from 1 to 30 days. Additionally, position may allow for commuting to and from jobsites but will include overnight travel at times. All candidates must be able and willing to travel. All technicians are required to participate in these alternative schedules and will be given as much notice as possible to any changes. Position does require repetitious actions and exposure to extreme conditions. These will be better described in the following narrative.
All candidates must pass fitness exam by a designated 3rd party.
What you'll be doing:
- Candidate will be expected to have the ability to follow procedures for the inspection of electrical components of the delivery system of commercial, industrial, residential and utility facilities.
- Candidates will be required to wear fire resistant (FR) clothing and a 40cal arc flash suit. Essential PPE also includes ear protection, safety glasses, hard hat, and specialty gloves.
- Physical activities will include climbing ladders (some >18') and stairways.
- Additionally, working from heights, traversing gangways and elevated walkways.
- Other activities could include crawling, carrying a camera and equipment (>10lbs) for extended periods and extreme atmospheric conditions.
- Walking from 10,000 steps to as much as 25,000 steps at both flat surfaces and inclines.
- Tight or even non-permit required confined spaces may be encountered and the proper PPE will be required for those instances.
What we want you to have:
- Minimum of a HS diploma
Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and comprehend English
Working/holding a 5-pound camera above your shoulders while scanning. - Squatting, kneeling and crawling around equipment.
- Finger manipulation of the IR camera and reporting tablet constantly.

Possible working conditions:
Jobsites can include temperatures above 100 degrees. Additionally, high humidity can be encountered. Temperatures that can fall as low as -50 degrees for short periods of time.
