Position Summary
- Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
- Oversee the daily operations of utility construction crews on assigned projects.
- Manage budgets and timelines and track daily labor and material costs
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Coordinate with other construction trades to ensure smooth project flow.
- Assign tasks to crew members based on their skills and experience.
- Train and mentor field personnel on proper safety procedures and construction techniques.
- Address performance issues and maintain a high level of productivity within the crews assigned.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
- Communicate updates and impacts to the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Previous experience as a Utility Superintendent or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews
- Ability to work independently under pressure to meet internal and client project deadlines without compromising quality.
- Professionalism in conducting interactions with customers, office staff, and crew.
- Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods
