Position Description:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance & Accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.
Essential Functions:

- Prepare and examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Conducts regular ledger maintenance and audits.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Perform reconciliation(s) of Balance Sheet accounts.
- Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
- Perform monthly close functions, including journal entries and schedule preparation.
- Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting team
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Minimum 0-3 years accounting experience, CPA candidate (preferred)
- Knowledge of GAAP, Knowledge of Accounts Payable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
