What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Business Analyst position at Allied Power Group?
We are seeking an AI Business Analyst to join our team located in Houston, TX to drive the integration of AI tools, data architecture, and digital workflows across the organization. This role will serve as the bridge between business functions and technology, identifying opportunities to automate, standardize, and enhance decision-making through secure AI and data-driven solutions. The candidate will need to be adept at communicating in cross functional teams to both understand the needs of the business and demonstrate the use of new processes and technology.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
AI Enablement & Use Case Development:
- Identify high-value use cases and the impact of AI improvements (pricing optimization, proposal automation, forecasting support)
- Embed AI optimization into existing workflows through understanding the users’ needs
- Develop AI best practices and instructional documentation
- Communicate the importance of improvements through the AI workflow to the end user
Cross-Functional & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Operations and IT teams to improve workflows and business processes
- Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into scalable process improvements and system enhancements
- Support implementation and adoption of new tools, workflows, and reporting capabilities across departments
- Support initiatives that improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy
Digital Thread & Data Architecture:
- Connect data across ERP, Salesforce, and financial systems in partnership with the relevant departments to ensure aligned workflows and sound architecture
- Align account structures and customer/site identifiers across systems (e.g., ERP and Salesforce)
- Build structured data models and reporting views to enable deeper analysis of key business areas
- Review and improve data collection procedures to promote completeness and accuracy at the point of entry
Salesforce & Revenue Operations Enablement:
- Support Revenue Cloud and CPQ initiatives
- Build pricing databases in Salesforce using existing cost analyses
- Automate proposal generation through the pricing database
- Implement deal approval workflows through automated notifications
Pricing & Financial Analytics:
- Create dynamic databases for financial information related to work and purchase orders
- Support pricing strategy through analysis of revenue and cost data
- Support forecasting and budgeting efforts through data gathered from departments

WORK QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 1-3 years’ experience in finance, sales ops, analytics, or transformation
- Understanding of basic statistics
- Salesforce or other CRM experience (Sales Cloud, CPQ, or Revenue Cloud)
- Strong Excel and PowerBI skills
- Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)
- Experience in cross function teams to create transformative processes
- Experience in the industrial or energy sector, ideally within a private equity-owned firm
- Experience with Salesforce automation, including Flows, Process Builder, and basic Apex
- Understanding of database structures and digital security
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field
