Compensation: Starting at $47/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience
Position Summary
As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with a variety of learning, developmental, and behavioral needs. You will collaborate with families, general education teachers, related service providers, and school administrators to help students achieve academic, social, and functional success in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Whether working with early childhood learners or elementary-aged students, you'll play a key role in fostering growth, confidence, and independence while helping students reach their full potential.
Qualifications
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification required
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field required
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
