Allied Mechanical Services is hiring an Estimator Trainee to join our pre-construction team. This is a specialized, hands-on opportunity perfect for recent technical graduates or those with a strong mechanical background looking to transition into a high-demand, high-value trade.
We are looking for analytical talent to train in the specialized process of estimating commercial and industrial Piping and HVAC/Sheet Metal systems.
What You Will Learn To Do
As an Estimator Trainee, you will be mentored to perform the core functions of pre-construction:
- Analyze complex Piping & HVAC blueprints and construction specifications.
- Perform detailed Quantity Take-Offs (measuring and counting materials/components).
- Calculate precise Labor Productivity Units for installation and fabrication.
- Solicit and negotiate pricing from national and local vendors.
- Develop final, competitive bid proposals for multimillion-dollar commercial projects.
Valuable Experience
Any background in CAD/SolidWorks, Hydronics, Fabrication, Project Cost Analysis or field service.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in :
Mechanical Engineering
HVAC/R Engineering Technology
Construction Management
Aptitude:
Eagerness to learn specialized mechanical codes, labor units, and bidding software (FastPIPE/FastDUCT).
