Position Summary
1. Customer Retention while remaining profitable through excellent customer service and effective communication with both the customer and Allied team members.
2. Ensuring their customers become repeat purchasers of our service by offering thoughtful property enhancements that improves the overall value of their properties.
As an Account Manager, you will be assigned to a series of internal teams that will require you to collaborate in a positive and meaningful way to be successful. Key Responsibilities
- Professionally represent Allied Landscape in all work activities.
- Know your assigned customers, their sites, and their expectations. Portfolio assignments are subject to change.
- Manage customer expectations and provide clients with excellent service and support.
- Respond to customer calls / texts / emails quickly and efficiently (calls & texts within 4-6hrs and emails within 24hrs)
- Manage requests / tasks / notes / calendar events / projects within designated Allied systems (Aspire/Google)
- Advocate for the customer (push to get customers the great results by monitoring requests and confirming end results on their behalf).
- Advocate for Allied operations (work with operations to understand how you can assist in increasing efficiencies through client communication / negotiations).
- Manage your time effectively - consider how best to approach your workload considering drive time, property time, office/ administrative time, and internal meeting time. For Account Managers that have assigned portfolios within 20 miles of the corporate office, we expect that administrative work to occur predominantly at the office. For Account Managers with portfolios beyond 20 miles of the corporate office, we expect Tuesdays and Thursdays at the office and the other weekdays at a location that you can concentrate and be productive.
- Communicate regularly with the Branch Manager, Maintenance Operation Managers, Enhancement Managers and Irrigation Managers. Work closely each week to ensure we are on the same page to share and prioritize site related issues and conduct monthly property drives together.
- Regularly and consistently pre-plan account visits with an agenda, service purpose, and selling opportunities.
- Collect information from the field to be shared with the customer to either generate enhancement opportunities or validate issues that we will follow up on.
- Generate proposals using company standards for estimating takeoffs (within 10% variance for cubic yardage, square footage and/or linear footage measurements) terminology, pricing, templates, kits, and margins.
- Schedule and attend site visits with the customer, landscape committee or board members to know customers’ needs and expectations.
- Take notes during site walks and provide customers with communication of plans and proposals so the customers’ expectations are met and clarity exists between us and our customer.
- Ensure that notes and other documentation (ie customer work order documents, signed copies of proposals, etc.) are input into company internal systems in a timely manner.
- Provide information to the field to guide their activities based on communication with customers, contractual obligations, and observed needs expressed on behalf of the customer.
- Follow up on outstanding Issues and make sure tasks are performed in a timely manner.
- Discover and identify customer landscape growth needs with enhancement/irrigation upgrade strategies / sales.
- Create annual budgets based on customers desired projects and our value-based recommendations.
- Manage and secure annual contract maintenance price increases.
- Participate in seasonal sales campaigns.
- Attend board meetings (occasionally in the evening).
- Participate in ‘On Call’ rotation by phone.
- Participate in sales meetings, one-on-one meetings, weekly operations meetings with operations managers, on-site training, and supplier events as required.

- Strong, clear communication – both written and verbal (bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus)
- A valid California Driver's License with a record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance company.
- Must have computer experience including proficiency of Google Workspace (comparable to Microsoft Office Suite) programs.
- Capable of working independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively through various methods and express yourself clearly and concisely while appropriately tailoring the message to the audience
