Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DC Power Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting direct current (DC) power systems essential for our electrical infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure reliable power delivery and support the seamless operation of our projects across various construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot DC power systems including batteries, rectifiers, and associated equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on high voltage and low voltage electrical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation tools to complete tasks efficiently
- Conduct fiber splicing and cabling to ensure optimal connectivity within electrical systems
- Assist with utility locating, rigging, climbing, and mechanical tasks required for system setup or repairs
- Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols on construction sites
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including system configurations and troubleshooting steps
Qualifications
- Proven experience with heavy equipment operation including dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, and bucket trucks
- Strong electrical knowledge with experience in high voltage and low voltage systems
- Skilled in fiber splicing, cabling, rigging, utility locating, welding, and mechanical work
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Construction site experience with a focus on electrical or utility projects
- Knowledge of climbing techniques for electrical work at heights
- Familiarity with mechanical systems related to DC power infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting electrical issues
