About the Role
Allied Community Services is seeking a Residential Supervisor and a Residential Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of a new residential program for adults with developmental disabilities. This role helps ensure individuals are supported in a safe, positive, and respectful home environment that encourages independence and community involvement. The Residential Manager/Supervisor will supervise and support staff, assist with scheduling and daily program needs, and help ensure programs follow agency and state requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, enjoy working with people, and be passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities in living fulfilling and independent lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Help oversee the daily operations of residential programs, including CLAs, In-Home Support, and Medical Coordination services.
- Support and supervise residential staff to ensure quality care for individuals served.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergencies and program support.
- Assist with direct care coverage when needed, including appointments, hospital visits, and shift coverage.
- Help ensure individuals' medical and behavioral needs are being followed and documented properly.
- Complete and maintain required paperwork, reports, drills, and program documentation.
- Monitor homes to help ensure they are safe, clean, and meeting program expectations.
- Help ensure programs follow agency policies and DDS regulations.
- Communicate with families, guardians, medical providers, DDS, and other team members as needed.
- Assist with staff training, scheduling, coaching, and performance support.
- Work with other departments and team members to support the needs of individuals served.
- Step in to provide program support and supervision when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Core Competencies & Qualifications
- Commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- College degree in Human Services or a related field preferred (relevant experience may substitute).
- 2 years in a supervisory role within residential or developmental disability services.
- Strong working knowledge of Connecticut DDS Policies and Procedures preferred.
- DDS Medication Administration, CPR, and PMT certifications required.
- Familiarity with Key Performance Indicators and program evaluation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage compliance, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Experience with hiring, performance management, and team leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and general administrative tools.
