Job Title: Distribution Systems Lead Engineer
Location: Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, HI (100% Onsite)
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 10 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, OSP/ISP, fiber optic infrastructure, or network engineering
- 5 years leading engineering teams in large-scale infrastructure deployment projects
- Experience supporting DoD, Federal Government, or large enterprise communications modernization projects
- Strong knowledge of:
- Outside Plant (OSP) & Inside Plant (ISP) design
- Fiber optic infrastructure, testing, and troubleshooting
- Telecommunications rooms and communication closets
- Systems engineering lifecycle
- Infrastructure design and integration
- Experience managing subcontractors and field engineering teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise OSP, ISP, fiber optic, and communications infrastructure engineers and technicians.
- Serve as the primary engineering lead supporting government stakeholders and project leadership.
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines.
- Manage subcontractor performance, daily work assignments, quality assurance, and issue resolution.
- Plan and oversee installation schedules, engineering resources, materials, and workforce deployment.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables including:
- Design packages
- Drawings
- Engineering reports
- Risk assessments
- Lead technical design reviews and project planning meetings.
- Identify and resolve engineering risks, design conflicts, and field implementation challenges.
- Perform complex systems engineering activities including:
- System design
- Integration
- Infrastructure implementation
- Testing
- System maintenance
- Support security, backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Support program management with project reporting, execution planning, and stakeholder communication.
