About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Shear and Brake Operator to join a growing fabrication team. This position involves operating industrial shear and brake press equipment to cut, form, and bend metal parts according to detailed shop drawings and work orders.
Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings
*
Measure, cut, and bend metal materials to exact specifications
*
Set up, operate, and maintain shear and brake press machines
*
Change dies, adjust settings, and ensure proper machine calibration
*
Calculate material tolerances and optimize sheet usage
*
Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and conformance to tolerances
*
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
*
Perform daily machine checks and report maintenance issues
Requirements
*
Experience: 2–3 years operating shears and press brakes (required)
*
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
*
Skills:
*
Proficient use of tape measure and precision measuring tools
*
Strong understanding of metal tolerances and allowances
*
Ability to read shop drawings and follow technical instructions
*
Comfortable with physical activity including standing, lifting, and bending
