Job Description
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving fresh, high-quality meals in Client on-site employee café. This position requires experience in food preparation, commercial kitchen operations, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate is dependable, works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and follows proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast, lunch, and other menu items according to established recipes and portion standards.
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers, and food preparation tools.
- Perform daily food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, portioning meals, and stocking stations.
- Maintain proper food temperatures, storage procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, presentation, and portion consistency.
- Assist with inventory management, receiving food deliveries, and rotating stock using FIFO procedures.
- Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, countertops, utensils, and kitchen workstations.
- Assist with meal service while providing friendly and professional customer service to employees.
- Follow kitchen safety procedures and maintain an organized, efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous line cook, food preparation, or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks during busy meal periods.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and teamwork skills.
