We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee operations in a fast-paced production/laundry environment. 2nd shift- Rotating shift: working up to 10 hours shift, hours rotated from 1:30 pm- 12 am or 3:30 pm-2 am,
a Salary- $55,000-$60,000 based on experience/ potential of monthly bonus. Bi-weekly payday.
Essential Functions
- Supervise multiple departments and a diverse team of production operators performing various job functions.
- Ensure all employees are at their assigned work areas at the start of each shift and that sufficient workloads are available in each area.
- Maintain an even and timely workflow throughout the production floor and soil sort areas.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
- Ensure accuracy and accountability using production and quality metrics, visual indicators, and positive reinforcement.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently across all production areas.
- Provide initial and ongoing training to department personnel, ensuring all employees perform in accordance with job descriptions.
- Deliver daily and weekly coaching to improve employee performance and effectiveness.
- Partner with the HR Department to address hiring needs, training initiatives, and employee development.
- Approve employee PTO and leave requests in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure all new employees are properly introduced to Company Objectives, Policies, and Safety Standards, and receive thorough onboarding training.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance production efficiency (PPOH) and reduce labor percentage.
- Review production goals and performance metrics with Management throughout the week.
- Communicate with the Maintenance Manager regarding equipment repair needs, maintaining written records and follow-up documentation.
- Ensure all customer concerns are addressed promptly and satisfactorily.
- Verify that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met daily.
- Maintain plant organization and cleanliness through effective 5S process management.
- Provide strong accountability and oversight to ensure consistent results across all levels of production.
- Set clear goals and deadlines that align with company objectives and communicate them effectively to staff.
- Prepare and submit performance reports; make recommendations for promotions or performance improvements as appropriate.
- Frequently walk the production floor to monitor employee performance, attendance, and break times to minimize lost productivity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Job Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform duties on the production floor.
- Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels).
- Capable of meeting consistent physical demands, including bending, twisting, and pulling.
- Management Skills: Ability to organize, direct, and effectively train others.
- Accountability: Willingness to accept responsibility and ownership of results.
- Accuracy: Ability to perform work thoroughly and with attention to detail.
- Communication (Oral): Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Communication (Written): Clear and concise written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex or recurring issues efficiently.
- Training: Demonstrated ability to develop and coach employees to meet performance standards.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of related production experience required.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
