Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, adherence to safety regulations, and excellent time management skills. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo. We run automatic transmissions in our fleet. Must pass drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of trucks including flatbed, scrap trailers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Drive assigned routes in a timely manner while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, and cargo details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Utilize manual and automatic transmission when required for specific routes or vehicle types.
Skills
- Proven experience in route driving with a strong understanding of navigation and logistics.
- Experience with flatbed trucks, scrap trailers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely using appropriate techniques and equipment such as forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and clients professionally.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean driving record.
