This role will also support our sister company, Bowen Machine Company, a long-established ISO 9001:2015 certified machine shop, particularly in inspection and occasional PPAP support.
Role Description
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Technician / CMM Programmer to support inspection and quality efforts across both fabrication and machining operations.
This role is primarily focused on CMM programming, in-process inspection, and final inspection, with occasional involvement in PPAP and quality documentation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the shop floor, understands GD&T, and can independently manage inspection processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesCMM & Inspection
- Program and operate CMM equipment (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS preferred)
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Develop and maintain inspection programs and measurement strategies
- Support inspection needs for both Alliance (fabrication) and Bowen (machining)
- Assist with PPAP and documentation as needed
Quality Systems & Documentation
- Support inspection plans, control plans, and quality procedures
- Assist with maintaining ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements
- Review data packs and shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness
Problem Solving & Shop Support
- Assist with investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions
- Analyze rejection trends and support improvement efforts
- Work with production and engineering to resolve issues on the shop floor
- Perform hands-on inspection as needed to support production flow
Qualifications
- Experience programming and operating CMMs (Mitutoyo MCOSMOS strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of GD&T
- Experience with PPAP (FAI, control plans, dimensional layouts) preferred
- Background in metal fabrication and/or CNC machining
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
- Proficiency with precision inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a hands-on shop environment
Preferred
- Experience supporting both fabrication and machining operations
- Exposure to audits, supplier quality, or multi-site support
- ASQ certification or Six Sigma experience
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
