What your day looks like
As a Commercial Laundry Field Service Installer on our Service team, you start your morning reviewing dispatch tickets and prepping your service vehicle. You’ll head to customer sites across the service territory to install, commission, and repair commercial laundry equipment—always following Alliance Laundry Systems quality standards, policies, and procedures.
In the field
- Install new equipment, perform start-ups, and verify proper operation.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on-site; repair or replace components to restore performance.
- Walk customers through safe operation and care of their equipment after installation or repair.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Assist with disassembly/reassembly of equipment and subassemblies for service.
- Respond to emergency/unscheduled maintenance requests as assigned by the Service Manager.
Parts, paperwork, and communication
- Research and place parts orders; review work orders and invoices to ensure needed parts are requested in time to meet deadlines.
- Pick up and return parts for repair; manage returns and replacements for worn or faulty items.
- Maintain accurate service notes and produce precise reports summarizing the work performed.
- Keep an organized inventory on the assigned company vehicle and report company expenses accurately.
- Escalate complex issues to the Service Manager and share ideas to improve processes and best practices.
Travel
Travel is limited to the defined service territory.
What you bring
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience repairing commercial, military, industrial, or manufacturing equipment preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience considered.
- Knowledge of single-phase electric power equipment required.
- Experience using phone and email/ticketing dispatch systems for customer support preferred.
- Comfortable with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Mechanical problem-solver with the ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Well organized and detail oriented; capable of managing multiple jobs and deadlines independently.
- Clear, professional communicator—written, verbal, and interpersonal—across all levels.

Standard & Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and fine manual dexterity.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently; assistive devices are provided for heavier items.
- Regular talking and hearing; frequent computer-based work requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Valid driver’s license required; a company vehicle may be provided.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record required.
