Position Summary

The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial motor vehicles in support of debris removal, disaster recovery, and environmental remediation field operations. This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A and Class B endorsements, a clean motor vehicle record, and at least three years of verifiable commercial driving experience. The CDL Driver plays a critical role in transporting heavy equipment, materials, and debris across active project sites and public roadways, in full compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Class A and Class B commercial vehicles including dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, and other heavy transport equipment in support of field operations
  • Transport heavy equipment, materials, debris, and supplies to and from project sites in accordance with established routes and schedules
  • Conduct pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections in compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policy; document and report any defects or maintenance needs
  • Safely maneuver vehicles in challenging environments including active disaster recovery sites, unpaved terrain, waterway access points, and congested work zones
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local transportation laws including hours of service (HOS) regulations, weight limits, and load securement requirements
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, trip records, delivery receipts, and inspection reports using electronic logging devices (ELD) and paper documentation as required
  • Coordinate with the Field Logistics Coordinator and site supervisors regarding load scheduling, delivery priorities, and site access requirements
  • Assist with loading and unloading operations using provided equipment and proper lifting and rigging techniques
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers are properly loaded, secured, and comply with applicable weight and dimension restrictions
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch and field supervisors regarding delays, route changes, mechanical issues, or safety concerns
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report fuel levels, fluid checks, and maintenance schedules to the Fleet Manager
  • Support emergency response operations which may require extended hours, weekend work, and deployment to disasteraffected areas
  • Represent Alliance Integrated Solutions professionally during all community and client interactions

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Class A and Class B endorsements in good standing
  • Minimum three (3) years of verifiable commercial driving experience operating Class A and/or Class B vehicles
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); must successfully pass an MVR screening prior to hire and on an ongoing basis as required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Thorough knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours of service requirements, and load securement standards
  • Ability to pass preemployment and preemployment drug screening and random drug and alcohol screenings
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Physically capable of performing pretrip inspections, assisting with loading/unloading, and working in outdoor field environments

Preferred:

  • Hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsement
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Experience in disaster response, debris removal, or environmental remediation operations
  • Familiarity with FEMA debris management operations and documentation requirements
  • Experience operating specialty equipment such as amphibious excavators, rolloff trucks, or lowboy trailers
  • Prior experience using electronic logging devices (ELD) and fleet management software

I-9 Verification:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by Form I9, without sponsorship

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial vehicle operations, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
  • Strong situational awareness and defensive driving skills across varied road and terrain conditions
  • Ability to operate GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELD)
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines while prioritizing safety
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, supervisors, and field personnel
  • Mechanical aptitude to identify and report vehicle deficiencies during inspections
  • Dependability and commitment to safety protocols and company standards at all times
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to rapidly changing field conditions
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with field crews and operations staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Extended periods of driving and operating commercial vehicles across diverse terrain including rural, unpaved, and active disaster recovery sites
  • Ability to climb in and out of vehicle cabs repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Work outdoors in varied weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity
  • Exposure to dust, debris, construction noise, and active work zones
  • Extended or irregular hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends particularly during emergency response activations
  • Potential deployment to disasteraffected regions requiring temporary relocation
