We are seeking a motivated Structured Cable Technician to join our team for a short-term engagement. Role Summary
As a Structured Cable Technician, you will support the installation and testing of communication structured cabling systems. Working alongside experienced technicians and project managers, you will help ensure high-quality outcomes for critical projects. The expected duration of this engagement is 6-8 weeks, with on-site night shift work performance required (availability between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
Key Responsibilities ·
- Assist with installation, termination, and testing of copper cabling systems (CAT-5/CAT-6).
- Perform cable pulling, routing, and labeling per industry standards.
- Support setup of network racks, patch panels, and cable management systems.
- Conduct performance testing and basic troubleshooting on cable installations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. · Follow all safety protocols and procedures on job sites.
- Deliver professional customer service and represent Alliance Cyber with integrity and pride.
Qualifications Required:'
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of structured cabling principles and terminology.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and work in diverse environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- U.S. Citizenship required. · Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must pass NCIC Identity vetting (no felony wants or warrants).
Preferred:
- Prior experience in structured cabling (low voltage) or related field.
- Basic networking/telecommunications knowledge.
- Certifications such as BICSI Installer 1 (advantageous but not required).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
