What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Specialist position at Alliance Consumer Group?
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Assist in establishing compliance requirements for new and existing products based on regulatory standards and customer specifications.
- Support ongoing compliance activities to ensure products meet applicable federal, state, and international regulations.
- Coordinate factory submissions for required product testing and certifications according to established testing plans.
- Track testing status and escalate delays, risks, or non‑conformances to the Compliance Manager.
- Review compliance documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Identify and escalate inconsistencies, gaps, or potential compliance risks.
- Assist in the review and approval of product artwork, user manuals, and labeling for compliance accuracy.
- Approve inner and master carton hazard labeling using compliance documentation, packaging templates, and transportation or customer requirements.
- Support compliance activities related to customer‑specific standards, documentation, and reporting needs.
- Coordinate compliance deliverables to meet customer timelines and expectations.
- Assist with import compliance activities, including tracking inbound shipments and reviewing commercial invoices and manifests.
- Support international reporting and documentation for export shipments as required.
- Coordinate workflow and task tracking for assigned compliance projects.
- Contribute to compliance reports and updates for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Assist in reviewing compliance procedures, policies, and processes and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Maintain WERCSmart article registrations to ensure accurate, complete, and timely compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support chargeback management by tracking claims, reviewing documentation, coordinating with internal teams, and escalating discrepancies to help mitigate financial and compliance risk.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Other tasks as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
