Responsibilities
- Lead, Manage, Hold Accountable:
- Lead a team of Mechanical Engineering Coordinators and Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the highest level of performance.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team and hold them accountable for meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Departmental Budgets and Labor Efficiency:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet project requirements.
- Implement strategies to improve labor efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize productivity within the mechanical engineering department.
- Overall Departmental Schedule:
- Develop and maintain the overall departmental schedule, coordinating with other departments to ensure alignment with project timelines and milestones.
- Proactively identify and address any schedule risks or conflicts, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies as needed.
- Department Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and other key stakeholders to develop and implement departmental strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical engineering department to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and drive innovation.
- Product Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including NPD, Sales, Applications, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product development from concept to production.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from design and prototyping to testing and validation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a mechanical engineering department.
- Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in automation systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
