POSITION OVERVIEW

The Mechanical Engineering Manager holds a pivotal role at Alliance Automation, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the mechanical engineering department. This multifaceted position requires a blend of leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to drive the department towards operational excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, Manage, Hold Accountable:
• Lead a team of Mechanical Engineering Coordinators and Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the highest level of performance.
• Set clear goals and objectives for the team and hold them accountable for meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
• Departmental Budgets and Labor Efficiency:
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet project requirements.
• Implement strategies to improve labor efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize productivity within the mechanical engineering department.
• Overall Departmental Schedule:
• Develop and maintain the overall departmental schedule, coordinating with other departments to ensure alignment with project timelines and milestones.
• Proactively identify and address any schedule risks or conflicts, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies as needed.
• Department Strategy:
• Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and other key stakeholders to develop and implement departmental strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical engineering department to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and drive innovation.
• Product Management:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including NPD, Sales, Applications, and Manufacturing, to ensure successful product development from concept to production.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from design and prototyping to testing and validation.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a mechanical engineering department.
• Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in automation systems preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
