Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Engineer serves as the critical link between engineering design and production execution, ensuring the efficient and successful assembly of custom automated equipment. This role provides hands-on technical support to assembly operations, quickly resolving mechanical and integration challenges to maintain build schedule and quality expectations. Acting as the primary liaison between the production floor and mechanical engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer translates real-time build issues into clear, actionable feedback while facilitating timely engineering responses.
In addition, this position is responsible for coordinating and driving resolution of build-related issues, including nonconformances, design conflicts, and incomplete documentation, ensuring minimal disruption to production flow. The Manufacturing Engineer brings a manufacturing-focused perspective to design by communicating lessons learned, tooling considerations, and practical assembly constraints to improve future machine designs.
When production demands allow, the Manufacturing Engineer is also expected to actively participate in the hands-on assembly of equipment. This direct involvement strengthens their understanding of real-world build challenges, reinforces credibility with assembly teams, and enables faster, more practical problem-solving. By staying closely connected to the build process, the role is better positioned to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and improve overall machine quality.
