Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive experience and ensuring smooth operations at our medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently
- Verify patient information and insurance details accurately
- Collect co-pays and process payments using electronic systems
- Answer phone calls and address inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Processing referrals
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Administer allergy injections and educate patients on proper injection techniques
- Willing to be cross-trained for other clinical roles
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus
- Experience preferred but not required, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
- Proficiency in using word processor, electronic medical records (EMR), and scheduling software preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate attitude and ability to handle patient inquiries with empathy
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is preferred
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Have reliable transportation
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus
