JOB SUMMARY
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of complex and large-scale projects, such as designing, developing, testing, and implementing systems, products, or processes.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- DESIGN/PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
- Designs parts using SolidWorks 2024 for sheet metal, tubing, wire and injection molded plastic.
- Prototypes parts using a 3D printer and alternate rapid methods.
- Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
- Evaluates test data for validity and resolution or improvements on specific projects.
- Inspects and reviews incoming first article parts.
- Manages multiple large-scale projects with cross-functional development teams.
- Develops electro-mechanical devices such as blowers.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Collaborates with Project Engineers for proper allocation and tracking resources.
- Creates designs in accordance with company regulations and client standards and values.
- Analyzes problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommends solutions.
- MANUFACTURING SUPPORT
- Tiered BOM creation and maintenance
- Creates work instructions for assembly of machines
- Tests protocol development and maintenance
- Generates print packages for release to the manufacturing team
- Supports product release in manufacturing
- SALES SUPPORT
- Answers technical questions for the Sales team with regard to application engineering support
- Writes and reviews sale specifications for quotations
- Addresses customers concerns and provides resolutions
- MARKETING SUPPORT
- Generates technical bulletins for new products and enhancements
- Creates and reviews operating manuals
- GENERAL
- Follows all safety rules and quality standards including all company policies and procedures.
- Performs job assignments in a safe and productive manner while maintaining high quality levels.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and associated applications including Solid Works, Simplify 3D, Revit
- Strong problem-solving skills and an excellent understanding of mathematics.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- High level of professionalism accompanied with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills, being able to prioritize multiple priorities at one time.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
- Must be able to lift and transport 50 lbs.
