About the Position
The Professional Development (PD) Coordinator is a highly motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple responsibilities. The PD Coordinator is a member of the Recruiting & PD team and works closely with the Chief Recruiting & PD Officer, the Associate Director, Recruiting & PD, and the recruiting team. Under the guidance of the Chief Recruiting & PD Officer and the Associate Director, Recruiting & PD, the PD Coordinator works independently to coordinate critical professional development initiatives. This role will be based in any of Allen Matkins’ offices. This is a firmwide role with in-office responsibilities. Travel to our offices is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the Chief Recruiting & PD Officer and the Associate Director, Recruiting & PD in delivering firmwide, practice specific, and local office training. This includes:
- Coordinates program logistics, including scheduling, registration, course materials, conference rooms, catering, and technology needs.
- Serves as a point of contact for external consultants, vendors, and internal faculty
- Provides on-site support for training programs
- Drafts and distributes program invitations, communications and materials
- Coordinates lawyer access to PLI and other external training programs
- Administers CLE compliance and has a working knowledge of CLE rules
- Collaborates with Associate Director, Recruiting & PD to develop and coordinate summer associate training programs.
- Facilitates the associate evaluation process by tracking status reports, preparing and distributing confidential materials to ensure the delivery of useful and meaningful performance evaluations.
- Administers the associate mentor program and related initiatives.
- Administers and tracks state bar memberships.
- Coordinates orientation and integration of first-year associate classes and lateral associates.
- Provides support and coordination for diversity objectives, including training and affinity group initiatives.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 2 years of increasing experience in law firm talent management preferred; professional services experience required.

- Strong data and analytics knowledge and ability to review metrics, measure value, and take appropriate action to move forward on initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required. Experience with Zoom, CE Manager, and viGlobal experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to be available, as needed, to work extended hours, nights, and weekends.

Compensation
Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $75,000 - $90,000 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location.
The base salary range displayed on the job posting reflects the estimated range for new hire salaries for the position. The actual offered base salary will be determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.
